Editorial Roles & Responsibilities

Celebes Nursing Journal (CNJ) maintains a defined editorial structure to support the scientific quality, integrity, consistency, and independence of its editorial processes. Editorial activities are conducted in accordance with CNJ's editorial policies and relevant principles of publication ethics, including the COPE Core Practices and ICMJE Recommendations.

Editorial Role Main Responsibilities
Editor-in-Chief Provides overall editorial leadership; establishes and oversees editorial policies and standards; makes final decisions on manuscripts based on editorial assessment and peer-review reports; oversees publication ethics, research integrity, peer-review fairness, issue planning, and publication schedules; and provides guidance to the editorial team.
International Editorial Advisory Board Provides strategic and scholarly advice on the journal's academic direction, editorial priorities, emerging developments in nursing science, and opportunities for academic collaboration. Members may serve as expert reviewers when specifically invited but do not routinely handle manuscripts or participate in day-to-day editorial decisions.
Associate Editors Conduct initial editorial assessments; determine suitability for external peer review; select and invite qualified reviewers; manage and monitor the peer-review process; evaluate reviewer reports and revised manuscripts; and provide editorial recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief.
International Editorial Board Provides scholarly, disciplinary, and regional perspectives relevant to the journal's scope and development; contributes academic input on developments in nursing research, education, and practice; and may serve as expert reviewers when invited and when no conflict of interest exists. Members do not routinely manage manuscripts or make editorial decisions unless specifically assigned.
Copyediting & Production Team Reviews language, clarity, consistency, formatting, references, tables, figures, and article layout; coordinates production-stage corrections; prepares final publication files; checks article metadata, author information, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, and DOI information; and supports final proof preparation and online publication.
