Open Access Policy
Celebes Nursing Journal (CNJ) provides immediate open access to its published scholarly content. Articles are freely available online upon publication without subscription or access charges, supporting the broad dissemination and exchange of nursing and healthcare knowledge.
CNJ's open access practices are based on the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and implemented through the journal's Creative Commons licensing framework.
1. Open Access Statement
All articles published in CNJ are made freely available online immediately upon publication, with no embargo period. Subject to the applicable license terms, users may read, download, copy, share, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse published content without requesting prior permission for uses permitted by the license. Where third-party material or other content is subject to different rights or licensing conditions, those conditions will be indicated separately.
2. Licensing and Reuse
Articles published in CNJ are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0)
Under this license, users are permitted to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format; and
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.
Users must:
- Give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and source;
- Provide a link to the applicable license;
- Indicate whether changes were made; and
- Not use the material for commercial purposes without separate permission from the copyright holder(s).
The CC BY-NC 4.0 license applies unless otherwise indicated on the published article or specific content.
3. Copyright and Author Rights
Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant CNJ the non-exclusive rights necessary to publish and disseminate the article under the journal's applicable open access license.
Authors may reuse, share, reproduce, and incorporate their own work into subsequent scholarly or other lawful works, subject to applicable third-party rights and other legal obligations.
When the published article or substantial portions of it are reused, the original publication in CNJ should be appropriately acknowledged and the DOI retained where applicable.
Detailed provisions concerning copyright ownership and licensing are provided in the journal's Copyright & Licensing Policy.
4. Self-Archiving
CNJ supports author self-archiving. Authors may deposit permitted versions of their manuscripts in appropriate repositories and academic websites in accordance with the journal's Archiving Policy.
The published Version of Record may be shared provided that the article DOI, original publication information, and applicable CC BY-NC 4.0 licensing information are retained.
5. Open Access Fees
CNJ operates a diamond open access model. Authors are not charged submission fees or article processing charges (APCs), and readers are not charged for access to published articles. Detailed information is available in the journal's Article Processing Charges (APC).
6. Digital Preservation and Accessibility
Long-term preservation of CNJ's published content is maintained through the journal's designated digital preservation arrangements.
Detailed information concerning PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) participation, backup arrangements, self-archiving, metadata interoperability, and continuity of access is provided in the journal's Archiving Policy.
7. Policy Review
This Open Access Policy is reviewed periodically and may be updated in response to changes in the journal's licensing arrangements, publishing practices, or relevant open access standards.
